7x24 Exchange COVID-19 Relief Fund

The 7x24 Exchange AZ Chapter will be donating $10,000 from our chapter funds to local COVID-19 relief funds. The board will be splitting their donation between three charities: Isaac School District Chromebook Initiative, Connect2Compete, and the AZ Commerce Mobile Hotspot Donation Drive. If you'd like to join the 7x24 Exchange AZ Chapter Board in donating to ANY of these organizations, please find more information below.

Isaac School District Chromebook Initiative

The Isaac Elementary School District is located in the Phoenix metropolitan area known as Maryvale. The community is considered an economically disadvantaged area with 100% of the students qualifying for federally funded meal programs. The district provides learning opportunities to 6,200 students ranging from preschool to eighth grade.

School closure during the Coronavirus pandemic has created an education challenge in the delivering of learning opportunities to our students. Over 50% of the students lack internet access. 80% of the students lack a computer of any kind at home. In response to these conditions, the Isaac Elementary School District has deployed all of its technology devices, mostly Chromebooks, to students for online learning. Currently our ratio of device to student is 1:3. The district has invested in mobile hotspots for students as well as purchased 4 mobile routers that can serve 120 clients at one time. The mobile routers will be placed on our buses and parked throughout our community on a schedule to provide internet access to our students.

The Isaac Elementary School District is currently looking for grants and donations to provide 1:1 student to Chromebook learning opportunities. By providing each student with a Chromebook, the district will be able to deliver online instruction and provide access to educational software during school closure.

Connect2Compete (C2C) is EveryoneOn’s flagship program for K-12 students and provides affordable internet service to qualifying families. C2C is offered in partnership with leading cable companies including Cox Communications and Mediacom.

Here are a few ways your donation can help unconnected people across the nation:

  • $50 covers a broadband router and one month of service.
  • $120 provides home Internet service to a family for a full year.
  • $1200 will help 10 families gain access to the opportunity that the Internet brings.

All it takes is $10 to connect one family to low-cost, high-speed internet service for one month.

AZ Commerce - Mobile Hotspot Donation Drive

The Arizona Commerce Authority (ACA) and the Arizona Department of Education (ADE) have partnered to identify every opportunity to get students online while schools are closed. Many families need access to mobile internet hotspot devices to use mobile data plans in order to have internet at home.

That’s why the ACA and ADE launched a Hotspot Donation Drive to encourage private and public partners to donate their unused or surplus of hotspot devices for students in need.

Once a public or private sector partner has donated devices, ADE will match the devices to the students and families who need them. The more donations, the more students can connect to the online resources they need.
