7x24 Exchange AZ Chapter is hosting
an August Luncheon meeting.

Topic: Sustainability in the Desert

When: August 9th, 2022 (11:30AM - 1:00PM)

Where: SkySong (1475 N Scottsdale Rd, Scottsdale AZ 85257)

Mark Monroe, with Microsoft will be leading our Sustainability in the Dessert discussion.

Panel Thesis:

Building and operating data centers in the US southwest is both tough and fragile. Tough in the challenges of high temperatures both inside and out, low humidity, rapid changes in weather with monsoon and haboob. But fragile in the sense of impact of surrounding community, water consumption, power use, noise, diesel particulates and aesthetics. This talk will discuss future sustainability efforts led by Microsoft, including use of zero-pollution, hydrogen-powered generators, water saving research, and the possibility of being "prosumers," producers of needed local resources not just consumers. Come hear about the changing hyperscale landscape in the desert!
